We are proud to announce that the world renowned international body DNV has awarded the new naval Type Approval certification to the NIRON CLIMA system, that covers SDR 7.4 (7.3), 9, 11 and 17. TYPE APPROVAL defines the procedure for approving a product by a naval registry. DNV certified NIRON Beta pipes now boast the possibility of being installed in naval applications for different uses, such as hot and cold water distribution, chilled water transport and cooling water in air conditioning systems, black and gray water, compressed air, water transport for ship stabilization systems with ballast. NIRON Beta pipes are lighter than metal ones and allow to reduce the overall weight of the ships, reducing the environmental impacts produced in maritime transport. At the same time, they are corrosion resistant, durable for more than 50 years, zero maintenance, thus reducing both maintenance downtime and restoration costs. The installation with electrofusion or polyfusion welding reduces construction times of the on-board systems by up to 50%. Reliability and longevity on board ship are of primary importance as well as the comfort and safety of passengers. Furthermore, energy efficiency and recyclability are fundamental elements in reducing environmental impact. The achievement of this prestigious Type Approval demonstrates the quality, safety and reliability of our products. Compared to metal materials, plastic pipes produce less CO2 emissions and show a better ecological footprint, fundamental characteristics for the achievement of environmental sustainability goals also in the naval sector.
