Since October 1st, NUPI Industrie Italiane joined the international voluntary program Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS). The program designed to prevent the loss of plastic granules (pellets, flakes and powders) during their handling in the plastic value chain and their release into the environment and particularly into the seas. The initiative aims at involving the entire production and logistics chain of the plastics sector in order to reduce the dispersion in the environment of powders, granules and fibers from the stages of production, transport and management of both granules and plastic products. NUPI plants have been active for some time in the prevention of pellet loss in compliance with both the provisions of the law and the environmental goals. Voluntary membership of the Operation Clean Sweep program allows the company to become part of an international program and share methods and objectives aiming for excellence. Aiming for the achievement of the Zero Pellet Loss goal perfects the company's environmental strategy for the reduction of impacts in a perspective that is increasingly aimed at sustainable development. By signing the OCS, NUPI Industrie Italiane continues its commitment to an increasingly targeted and recognized environmental protection policy by strengthening its strategies and promoting its sensitivity towards all parties involved.
